VIVAnews – Solo Mayor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, is confirmed to have garnered the most votes in the Jakarta's gubernatorial election. Jokowi took lead in five municipalities of Jakarta, only to lose in Kepulauan Seribu against incumbent Fauzi Bowo.

Fauzi gained 6,916 votes in Kepulauan Seribu whereas Jokowi only accumulated 1,273 votes. 

“As many as 3,801 people didn’t vote,” said Muhammad Sidik, Head of Kepulauan Seribu Elections Commission, on Tuesday.

In West Jakarta, Jokowi-Ahok garnered 467,081 votes, surpassing Fauzi Bowo, who reached 327,495 votes.

The result was announced during a plenary meeting of vote count of West Jakarta Election Commission on Tuesday.

In East Jakarta, there were more people who chose not to vote. Out of 1,996,745 voters, 718,225 were in abstention, of which number was larger than those voting for Jokowi (502,616 votes).

Jokowi also dominated the votes in Central Jakarta with 193,446 votes compared with Fauzi's 170,006 votes. 

Meanwhile, North Jakarta also witnessed Jokowi's lead of 325,569 votes compared with Fauzi's 214,449 votes. 

In South Jakarta, Joko Widodo won the election by receiving 357,172 votes, far above Fauzi Bowo (319,389 votes), Hidayat Nurwahid (126,989 votes), Alex Noerdin (43,119 votes), Faisal Batubara (62,685 votes), and Hendardji Soepandji (18,361 votes).
