VIVAnews- Jakarta administration's dream to take the monorail project over from the PT Jakarta Monorel (PT JM) has finally come true.
The Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has finished analyzing the compensation of the investment carried out by the PT JM. Therefore, the Jakarta administration will take over the project starting next week.
“There must be a decision by next week”, Governor of DKI Jakarta, Fauzi Bowo, said after presiding a meeting at the Jakarta City Hall on Monday, May 4.
The Governor said that the problem concerning PT JM’s investment compensation must be shortly solved because any delay would lead to further pending of the monorail project.
Regarding the takeover, the Governor admitted that he has prepared some action plans based on the BPKP’s decision. The scenario has been adjusted to the current situation as well as Jakarta’s transportation needs.
The Jakarta administration has estimated the fund needed to take over the mega-project. “So far there is already an estimation of the fund needed, which I will inform later. We have also got the total amount”, Bowo said.
Although it has been finally decided that the project will be taken over by the Jakarta administration, Fauzi Bowo will still work together with the government in finishing the project.
“I hope we could finish this project together with the government”, Bowo said.
Besides completing the monorail project, Fauzi Bowo is planning to intensify the revitalization of the Jabodetabek railway. Cooperation with PT Kereta Api (KA) will be formed as soon as possible.
