VIVAnews - Pupuk Kalimantan Timur booked Rp 370.5 billion net profit during the first semester of 2009, which exceeded the company's 2009 budget working plan, reaching Rp 323 billion.
"The financial report has yet to be audited," Pupuk Kaltim's managing director Hidayat Nyakman said in a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
He said that the company managed to record Rp 3.7 trillion income during the first semester of 2009, which was lower than the 2008 first semester income reaching Rp 5 trillion. "Last year income was really high because of the increasing fertilizer price at that time," he said.
He explained that the company's financial performance growth had been increasing significantly for the last few years. It is related to the efficiency in the company. "The company now create gas efficiency up to 30 mmbtu per ton fertilizer," he added.
Other than that, the performance improved due to the good availability of gas supply in several gas factories. Thus, it had boosted a better fertilizer production and added the operational income.
